Palantir
Solving hard problems at scale
The value proposition of Palantir is quite simple: complex organizations produce massive amounts of data; to win, they need to make sense of that data and apply it at scale; making sense requires integration of sources/models into a shared source of truth in the form of an ontology; analytics and workflows must build upon that ontology; and outcomes must flow back into the ontology to create a compounding loop.
Organizationally speaking, Palantir holds some unique values. Chief among them is finding the thing that you do better than anyone and giving you the authority to do that. For me, Palantir figured out that I was really good at running large teams, strategically and operationally, on high profile projects and in urgent settings. I started my work there in the energy world, but was quickly mobilized to run teams in telecom in Mumbai, automotive in Munich, the US Army, the US Department of Health and Human Services, and more.
Publicly available case studies are linked above, although much of what I did is not publicly available.
Palantir gives all of its employees a near-business-school education, but more valuable to me were the deep learnings around culture and winning.
